If you go on the ACC website they make some recommendations as to which reels balance their rods. Makes for a nice starting point. I have also looked up the weights of the reels they suggest to get a baseline for choosing a reel. For me balance is important to get a good feel for the lure

I have two 11’ ACC rods and four eight footers. They have been a tough rod. I fish by myself mostly so I just flip the fish into the boat if they are not too big. I have to many new rods I was testing before I started having all my shoulder surgeries to give a good report on any of them yet.

I have 4 of the 14' spider rig rods. Very satisfied with them.

I have 4 ACC in various sizes. Don’t care for any of them.
    That’s just me.

I have an ACC that I got for casting, but for the money I much prefer the BnM TCB rod. Much more sensitive. I can feel every bump my lure makes.

I have not owned nor fished with an ACC crappie rod. But do own the TCB rod from BnM and love that rod. Good luck with which ever one you choose.

I have an 8’ ACC, its a nice rod but ive bought several rods since and none have been ACC.
I dont understand what all the hype is over them.
For me, the BnM line of rods is as good as it gets for Crappie fishing.
    I have 3 Sam Heatons, a 7’ a 9’ and a 10’ and like those more than the ACC.
I actually like the standard ultra lite BnM rods as well as any i have.
I use a small net also, but mostly just use it on the larger fish.
No problems lifting most Crappies right into the boat even with the 10 and 11’ BnM ultra lites with 6# line.
For kayak fishing i would be trying a 7’ Sam Heaton.
Thanks Cajuntec thanked you for this post

I wish we had a full selection of BnM poles around here to get my hands on. Im kinda picky about the feel and actions, and I hate to order blind off the internet, as chances are I'd miss the right 'feel' for me.

My TCB I won here in a contest on C.C. But am thrilled with the feel of it. I am looking at the San Heaton ultra sensitive by BnM though, as well as another 12' jiggin pole.

I bought 4 of the 14ft rods for spider rigging. Using them and 4 of the B & M 14ft trolling rods. Seems the ACC are lighter than the B & M and far lighter than my Southern Crappie 14 footers. Looking to get 2 more 14ft and 2 16ft of the ACC.
