Well for trolling, by whatever method, i cant see where weight would be that much of a factor.
After all the rod spends much of its time sitting in a rod holder, and not being held in your hand.
Spending a few hours holding one tends to get your attention on the weight factor however.
Same goes for the length, even with rods from the same maker.
Due to my advanced age and being less active, i am more aware than i once was over the weight i can comfortably support.
10’ seems to be about the limit that im comfortable with for long periods, even with the ultra lites.
I have recently bought an 11’ rear seat BnM ultra lite however, and due to the balance factor im ok with that as well.
But i also keep the reel size to a minimum.

As for not being able to see and handle the BnM rods, cmon down to Florida.
We need the tourist money. lol
Go to Okeechobee and visit the Fast Break tackle shop.
They have many of the well known brands on display in all sizes at reasonable prices.
And you would be only a few minits from 2 large ramp locations for launching and trying the new rod.

I'm mostly a single pole fisherman & have a couple of ACC rods. Good looking rods but I thought they were heavy. At least heavier than what I normally use.

I have one in my online cart. Just wish it was a 1 piece rod. I’ve never cared much for two piece. I have two 2-piece rods, and they are ok. Just not my preference. Still mulling it over. Probably will buy after Christmas. Thanks for the suggestion / recommendation.

    All the best,

I shoot docks with the 2.piece ones. They have made lots of shots and wrestled some bonus fish. They are pretty tough in my opinion

I have a 6'6". It's not bad but a little stiff for me. My go-to is a BnM 7' Sam Heaton super sensitive. You can feel everything with it but still has the backbone to pull in the occasional bucket mouth or northern pike. Love that rod paired with a Diawa Regal reel.

I have two 13 footers. Four 10 footers. Two 11 footers and two 8 footers. I love them: however the 13’s are a little heavy. I mainly single pole livescope

Curious to how much lighter the ACC poles are then the Southerns? I have had 14ft Southerns for years and love them and there price.
