Nimrod, he is casting the float, but often times he is fishing very close to the boat also.

He often uses a 1/16 and I a 1/32. So his jig would be falling faster. I just can’t figure out how/why his jig and move up and down so fast and I can’t get away with any movements like his. A mystery to be solved

And at times I catch fish and he struggles to do so. That’s sac a lait for ya.

My last outing the trick was to be off to the side about 30 feet away, as the boat got closer to them the less bites we would get, they were holding about 20 feet deep. Were using 1/32 ounce jigs and very small tube jigs any heavier or bigger bites were far and few between. Cast pass them with slack line watch for the tick or exrta weight..

I love sniping them, but I guess I need to consider casting a jig and float at times. But vertical jigging with LS is my thing.

I use my Livescope to find them but I cast to them instead of trying to snipe them. I want a jig fished a foot above them moving as slow as possible. I fish pods of fish instead of trying to pick off individual fish.

I have seen that some lakes the fish run from a jig like you threw a brick in the water. Other lakes nothing bothers them .

Seen times in real shallow water when water super cold, if you move the bait they would not bite . Seen it sit still a minute or more then slowly sink bobber .
