None of the " floatation assist " outerwear even the high end stuff like Striker are USCG approved to my knowledge and meant to be a substitute to a life jacket but having a suit that floats could be a help if you don't have the life jacket on as you ALWAYS should especially in cold water. Yeah I’m not trusting any suit in cold water don’t care how much it says it floats. I do like this suit you posted but still wear my life vest though.

I have that suit, only fished in it once. It was 37° when I put the boat in and 39° when I took out and even with 10-15 mph NW winds, I didn't get cold. Light and very comfortable. Yes, I also wore my self inflating PFD.
