    Default Blackened Crappie Nip Style

I’ve been bored with fried crappie for the longest and it’s a mess to make. Thought I’d share this blackened recipe that is delish.

    Crappie Rub:
1 TBS EACH ancho chili powder, brown sugar
1 tsp EACH smoked paprika, ground cumin, garlic pwdr, onion pwdr, salt
1/2 tsp EACH dried oregano, pepper

Cook crappie over a skillet or black stone with a bit of oil and butter.

Rice I cook with chicken broth as directed on package.

Veggie mix is 1 zucchini diced, half large red onion diced, 2 jalapeno peppers (scrape the inside out to heat desired) and 2 garlic gloves diced. Sauté with some avocado/olive oil and then some butter.

Sauce on top is Old El Paso Creamy Salsa Verda Sauce.

But I still had to fry a lil bit of crappie for my picky daughter. Lol

Now that’s how I’d prefer it every time. I can almost taste it and I know it’s delicious. Thanks for sharing this rub, I will be making it for sure.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
