Well, good news. Allstate insurance paid for the Livescope and the mount, full retail price, minus my deductible. I'm pretty happy with how fast they did it.

Now I have a decision to make. My 93SV plus will not work with an LVS34. So, should I sell my current equipment and add a couple hundred and move up to a UHD2 93SV with an LVS34 ? Or should I find a used LVS32, keep what I have and save the rest for later?

Thoughts? I think I'll start another thread about this exact question.

Personally I’d just upgrade it all. The new 93sv has better resolution too.

I just got a Livescope LVS34 and need to upgrade head units.

The choices I'm considering in the $1k range are:
    1. UHD2 93SV w/GT56($1,199)
    2. Ultra 106SV w/GT54 ($999) W/GT56, it's $1,819- a bit much.

Which is a better head unit, the UHV2 93SV or the 106SV Ultra? Anything in particular stand out?

I initially like the 106SV with both fresh and saltwater maps, since I fish both. Are the included maps decent, or will I end up buying upgraded maps?

Secondly, is the difference between the GT54 and the GT56 transducers a night and day difference?

I'm way behind in my knowledge, so I appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

I’m freshwater only but have been satisfied with the maps. I would wait and see if you feel you need better maps and go with 93SV. Plenty of screen for me at a price point I could almost justify to the Mrs. LOL Congrats on the new purchase.

    106 with the 54 tranducer.....999.99

A 56 tranducer can be had for around 360.00 if you wanted it.

That seems like a good deal. Buy the $999 unit and the GT56 for $1,359 and sell the GT54 for what? $100-$150? Maybe $1,200 net? That's cheaper than $1,499 from GPS store, if you want to work for it. Worth considering.

I've been doing research, and upsides and downsides, and I'm still trying to weigh the options.

106SV Positives: a 1" larger screen, more pixels, multiple network ports, can use a LVS12 without a black box, and other useful features.
Negatives: It has the older, slower processer, and it's a discontinued product, so there will be few or no new updates for that unit.

UHD2 93SV Positives: It's a current product, faster processor, comes with the GT56 UHD transducer and has wireless networking
UHD2 93SV Negatives: It's slightly smaller with fewer pixels, single SD and network port

OF COURSE, what I really want is the best of both worlds - the Ultra2 106SV, but the price is a lot more out of pocket than I want to spend. It's easy to get tech crazy. I was pretty happy with my 93SV and my LVS32 to be honest.
