Hang in there! Usually Black Friday is best time to buy a transducer. Sorry about your luck. At least you have insurance if all else fails.

Just found out that the guy's FB account had been hacked. FB Marketplace is looking into it, and I should get a refund soon. BUMMER.

God Bless You
Painful. just painful to read my friend. I hope you find one reasonable for sale soon.
Thanks, friends.
Not seeing anyone selling a LVS32 transducer by itself for a reasonable price.
I need to be patient. Hopefully, another one will come along soon.
Yikes. That stinks. Makes me hurt too.
not fun ....

Bad break for sure. Hope the box isn’t broken.
I’ve had folks help me launching and loading the trailer, and mistakes were made. Now I still touch everything on my launch or load list, regardless who did the task. Helps my friendships stay intact.
Hate to hear such bad news
A few folks are just down right lucky, the rest of us not so. But we persevere. I have sputs of good luck. Dropping my favorite med heavy rod with a baitcaster overboard while fishing for catfish once (unlucky)
But I leaned over and caught it just before it got out of reach in 50 foot of water (lucky). I have broken my scag, trailer, and don’t even ask about anchors! Hopefully the new transponder will end up being better than the lost one. Remember “All things work to the good …..”

FISHING REPORT: ‹Caught two docks, 3 trees and a stump- threw them back!
Thanks, guys, I appreciate the kind words.
The way I'm looking at it is, IF I must go through insurance, and IF they cover it, and IF they give me full retail value, and IF my black box isn't damaged, and IF my deductible isn't too much... I might even end up being able to move up to an LVS34. A lot of IFs, but it might turn out positive.
Stuff happens, sometimes good, sometimes bad. Sometimes it's our fault, sometimes it isn't. In my case, I SHOULD have double-checked everything as I normally do.
Like you, Skeetbum. I have a check system, and I usually don't want any help. But the kids want to help, and I've started letting them, so they can learn. They usually do everything right, too. This one just slipped through the cracks.
I don't blame my nephew, he was just excited to go fishing. As Captain, it was absolutely my fault. He was almost as heartbroken as I was, so I don't think THAT will ever happen again. Another positive. Lessons learned.

The insurance guy says that it should be covered. I'll know more on Monday.
Since it's looking good, I ordered an LVS34 transducer only. It was on sale, and I had $349 worth of discounts and gift cards, so it cost me less than the LVS32 transducer alone. As long as the insurance pays, everything will be fine. I see paying the deductible as the cost of upgrading to the better transducer. I'm looking forward to seeing if the LVS34 is that much better.
If the insurance doesn't pay for some reason, I'll return the new transducer and wait until a reasonably priced LVS32 transducer comes up on Marketplace or Ebay.
Now, I need a new pole. I have to carefully consider what to get. I don't want this to ever happen again! If I didn't have a Terrova, I would probably just mount it onto the trolling motor, for security sake.
