Good looking catches and a might fine trip. Orange crush put a whoopin on them….. KABOOM!
Don't really drink soda , but to be sure of this , yesterday it would have been .....
ORANGE CRUSH ! !
WOW did I stumble upon on herd of river crappie !
all over that there grassy knoll ....
and they were just big fat slabs in numbers too ....
wife called and started to ostracize me about straining my shoulder stitches
told her this about that ....
we can discuss this/that RIGHT AFTER the bite quits ! see ya .....
so at 51 crappie and 2 bluegill , I called her back to listen to her version of no heavy lifting and that probably included long casting and hook setting and lifting fish that size up the grassy knoll too
and it went on for a while and then I said look here my sweety , my shoulder is fine and my heart is happy , the fish were all set free and I got to go back to work now
3 foot under a float , no hard takes and they liked it really slowly moving and the float would just really slowly go down.
was surprised to see some things some of you probably do not know about, shad oil slicks all over the place on the surface in the river ,created best I can tell from the passing of the shad out of the back end of the predator fish is my guess , wonder if you can see that on LIVESCOPE !
that there orange on a red jighead was just REALLY deadly meds. and in the end ....
KABOOM is in fact the word from the fool on the hill .....
overcast ,with a slight drizzle and light north wind and no clue how deep the water is there , but my guess in under 8 feet or so ...
7 foot medium ABU one pc. 6 lb clear Stren and an old shimano .....

they appear to be ready to spawn , them fish bellies are some kind of extended , this in turn is producing the oil slicks when it comes out the other end is my guess .
now mind you this , I see oil slicks like that when I get on top of herds of fish during boat rides as well , just another thing to remember when you are out and about in the pursuit of the ever lovely little crappie fisheez ....
it is for sure quite possible to envision what is going on below the surface with the right mindset and you are minus some sort of sonar device ...

I'm guessing surgery was done on your non casting/hook setting shoulder so you should be fine, Ketchn is great therapy.
