    I beat the vines the Mayflies are holding on with my fly making some fall to the water then roll cast the fly right into where they are landing. 'Gills & Goggle-eye keep my rod busy doing that for hours. Fun times.

    I only saw that one , but the birds were just eating the fire out of something all around me and that is likely what was going on

    Up here in the Nort during mayfly hatches we beat mud bottoms for Walleyes, they are like little pigs rooting out the Mayfly larva. Many of the ones we catch are just covered in mud.
