    Default Lowrance HDS9GEN3 with Med/High 455/800 transducer

Would someone give me some good advice on a setup for this unit? I looked at YouTube and google. I fished in freshwater. I cannot get the fish arches to work and I not seeing enough definition on my side scan? Thanks!!!!

Generally, if you're not getting arches on 2D it's because the transducer is not parallel to the surface. What are you structure scan settings and range?

That's true, and also you or the fish must be "moving" & the fish has to go thru the center portion of the 2d cone.

Can't help on Side Scan settings, as I've never had a Side Scan unit. (over the decades I went from 2d to DI to LS for my primary unit)
