Default Vertical Jigging - Line Visibilty

I am vertical jigging with Livescope. I have a very hard time seeing the line from the rod tip to where it enters the water. This is important to me when looking to see if the jig is in-line woth the LS cone.

I have used a 6’ piece of 20# hi-vis dacron (tied to the main line) with a 4’ leader. NOTE - my waters are seldom deeper than 7’.

Looking for suggestions that may be better than my present setup. Thinking about 40# or heavier hi-vis braid.

    Any ideas?

Guess I’m having a hard time following. I dip using a 10-12’ rod and keep the rod tip down close to the water. Whatever direction tip of my rod is, is where my line is. I use 15lb white braid. I don’t use anything more than 20lbs over the year. White, pink and yellow are my favorite colors which all I can see. K9 and Mad Fishing all have different color hi vis braid.

As simple as it sounds, I always fish with the rod lifted 4’ or higher above the water. I plan to try holding the tip at the water to see if that works for me. Good suggestion!

Yeah I would try lowering your tip. I’ve always fished long rods with tip close to water even when spider rigging.

I use suffix 832 hi vis yellow or lime 20 lb on all my reels. I rig with a bead , swivel and short leader. These old eye don't see clear mono or dark braid the way they used too.

    Thanks, Mo.
Is the line color fast? A lot of my hi-vis braid fades badly in short order.

Do you find 20# has a large enough diameter or would you go with a heavier (thicker) line?

color last for at least a couple of years, the yellow fade to almost white , but still can see it well.

I have tried 10lb , did not like it , Have not tried anything heavier.
    Good luck
