    they are in the migration mode , downstream about 300 yards is the river confluence and it is by far the deepest water in the river system at 25 to 30 feet deep and even though I never hit it from the bank , for sure they go sit out the winter right there is my bet ...
    one thing for certain , this time of year where the fish were for a week or so is exactly that , they will pack up and follow the bait and be long gone soon .
    the lakes often have a very similar pattern too ....fall fish are on the move in this part of the world .

    off subject time , had to clean my freezer and ran across several bucktails , ripped a few pcs. off them and salted em good .....

    I don't use buck tail much anymore and have a box full of them. Possum hair has become my go to hair. Only thing I need is Gadwall flank feathers so for the duck hunters who might read this I'll trade some hand tied jigs for some Gadwall flank feathers. They are hard to come by here with the dry year we've had. I'm sure there are members that would take the tails so don't toss them. Thanks for the offer.

    ducks ain't my thing , used to smack a few , but not anymore ....
    have another jig tying fool or 2 in my list of buds ....
