Yeah you can catch fish but all you do is stare at a screen the whole time!

I grew up working on computers. Those green screens in the early days. This reminds me exactly of my computer operator days. Not fun, too many flash backs. Maybe when the resolution on them dots I'm watching gets to maybe 4k it'll be more fun. Lol

I wasn’t sure if I was gonna tell this, but this past Saturday I tried it. I’ve had the equipment for months now, and just couldn’t make myself quit trolling long enough to try it. Saturday I said sink or swim, left all my crankbaits and linecounters at home. I mostly sank. Got it tuned in, can see my jig and fish well. Had at least 50 fish, who knows what kind, run up and look but no bite. Tried holding still, wiggling, taking it away, then dropping slow. Had one hookup but came unstuck before I saw the fish. Got dizzy, disoriented several times looking up after staring at the screen so long. Gonna try again and hopefully run into some cooperative fishies. Probably take some minnows next time. But not sure how serious I’m gonna get with it.

No minners, use Slabsauce gewber. I'm telling you, it make the bites happen. Otherwise they just look at it. You neeeeed the sauce!!! Slabsauce on hair jigs is all I use. Pico bunny butts, or home made hair jigs buddies gimme.

Tried slab sauce, sparkle nibbles, about a dozen different types and colors of jig. Maybe just not in the right places. But Pickwick can get weird this time of year. I think some of the fishies may have been been big shad or skipjack. I was using a tungsten weight pegged a couple feet above with a small clear plastic sinker stop. A lot of them seemed a lot more interested in that than the jig!

When the fish runs up to the bait and doesn't bite you may as well go find more fish. Livescope is great for that. You don't waste time trying to catch fish that don't want to bite. If one comes up to my bait and turns back around....If I don't feel like I did anything to cause that I move on. If I feel like I dropped the bait too far or made a sudden move to spook the fish i'll drop on them again. If i'm fishing Jigs i may try a different color. If they don't bite the second time I move to the next fish. May be farther down in the same tree....may be a different tree. But I don't keep trying to get that one fish to bite. That said, i'm not a tournament fisherman. Just looking to put some fish in the boat. If it's a monster I might mess with it for a while.

All that said, I love live scope. I love to watch the fish swim up and eat my bait. It's fun for me. And I'm over 50 so it's not a millennial thing.

Would be my rotten luck when I looked up, got disoriented and a bit dizzy, well, the fishes would have a new swimin' partner. Nope, gonna keep the sideview, down imaging and watch that line...gettin too cold for those wet splashes...

That's the reason i put a wise double seat bench up front when crappie fishing. I can swivel right around & stand up on the front deck without having to walk around the seats. A lot safer.
