I vote the gps system. Then save for a hard top for the truck.
What would you do?
Get a softopper for the truck? Or an auto boat for the trolling motor? Can’t get both!

Link for autoboat - AUTOBOAT GPS Pro Anchor System - for 12V Minn Kota 30-55 Lb Trolling M - Tiny Boat Nation
Currently no topper of any kind on the truck bed. Would like this on the bed. Plan on keeping the truck till one of us dies, it’s 1.5 years old, 11,000 miles.
Trolling motor is a hand control bow mount. TM is one year old. Would like a gps controlled unit.
Thoughts? Comments? Anyone have either of the products linked? Other considerations?

Depends on which I would get the most use out of. I would lean to the trolling motor upgrade. Depending on how you fish it can be a game changer. Have adapted to using mine and can not would not want to fish without it

TM first and put the duckies aside to find a used cover for the truck. I’ve had a cab high topper on most of my trucks and like it a lot. No, I can’t put a fridge in it but I’m not loading or unloading one of those anyway. That’s why God made delivery services. A new fiberglass topper can run 3 large but a good used one can be found for much less. The extra weight of the fiberglass makes em ride better and better traction in the winter.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!skunked again thanked you for this post
My says the responsible thing to do is to get the Truck Cover because you are going to use your truck not even comparable times more than being on your boat. With your current boat Trolling motor you still can actually fish. Not like it's beached. It's the way you've been having to us it. Then get the GPS. You not riding your boat to work, to the grocery story, to haul. I'd take care of the truck 1st if I could only do one.
But Me personally I'm getting both dem sum bisquit etta's & calling at day.

Thank you all for the replies.
UnLikeU - yes that would be the responsible thing to do! This adulting thing isn’t fun!!

Agreed on the truck cover. Iffn I was getting one I would buy a hard top due to weather. Snow carries a lot of weight with it and I would be skeptical of how the soft top would hold up. Any soft top is more prone to leaking as well. Consider security as well. Save for the GPS or a different TM with GPS. JM2C
