    Default sad but no skunk

Got out again today. The sad thing was I hooked a monster crappie. The way it pulled I wasn't sure what it was. Got it to the surface and it was a crappie. Bent my rod almost double. I played it and took my time getting it to the surface, then the dummy fisherman took over. Instead of using a net I tried swinging it into the boat. bad move, it dropped off and swam away. . Well a little gill saved me from the skunk

My personal best crappie found me soaking wet in freezing temps middle of the night. I slid off the rocks and into the water waist deep while I was hooked up. Scrambled back up onto the rocks and finally managed to lip the fish. That was some night. Greedily stayed another hour hoping for another.

UnLikeU, I surely learned something. I bet some guys will get a chuckle watching me use a net on a six incher And is a pleasure to meet ya.

Slab, you are very correct. I have lost several bass, and catfish while reaching for the net. I guess it all makes for good stories!
