    Default Tipster guy

might be me , just depends on who ya are and how much you want to ketch some crappie ......
sometimes when folks can't find them and or are kinda desperate to ketcha few , I give up a location er 2 .....
this particular spot never seems to produce fish with size to them crappie wise and never a black crappie either
not sure why , that spot has good numbers of them downstream and managed a few up stream too ....
but for some odd reason the only crappie at that location seem to run small and always white crappie .
mind you this about that , the spot was passed to me by another bank scout back when and neither of us ever managed any larger crappie there either ....
I have not visited it in a few years even though it is 5 minutes from my job . H wanted to try his hand at the river crappie and I sent him to my black crappie spot down there on the west fork and he struck out twice ...
so I told him to go down to downtown under the really big bridge with the paint job on it on the the clear fork ..... told him to hit the east side of it and pay attention to the 2 or 3 or more telephone pole looking things on the banks on opposite sides of the river ....
they are old bridge supports from the whatever bridge that was there before the biggun and there is line of them under the water all the way across the river !
well true to form he found the paint job under that big bridge and right quickly found a bunch of small white crappie , said the bite was ridiculous good , but nothing much over 9 or 10 inches ....
sent me a bunch of lil crappie fish pictures and I asked him if he had fun anyway and he said YES
    and I said KABOOM bro
p.s. look close at image 3 and you can see them old bridge supports on the off side right by the bank against the concrete ......

takes long casts to hit the crappie down there ,but , has other fish in there too , lost a monster bass one time down there and my bud landed a monster buffalo there as well
lot's of sunfish on the short water columns as well , easily a great family location to just ketch fish for sure .....

You gave H a great tip, and the closeness to work is a huge plus when you’re short on time!

Good on you for sharing! Sort of, Give a man a fish vs. teach a man to fish kinda deal there.

years ago, I used to work in a busy tackle shop. I photocopied maps of the local lakes where I could give customers the map and mark spots to send them to. They'd be more likely to find them that way. The ones looking to ketch anything got sent to the small fish holes and the more experienced were pointed to more big fish areas. It also kept them away from my honey holes. Win/win/win for everybody involved.

I gave a buddy the hot baits here day before yesterday. Sometimes I think helping others helps us too. I caught a box today playing with a GoPro. Felt good knowing my buddy did well yesterday with the baits I gave him all the while using the same baits to fill my box today.

some lakes here have significant paint under them , one east of here actually has the fish painted on it ....
blue fish to be exact and to be sure about anyone who ever hit Texas crappie know what lake and what bridge ....
my largest weighed black crappie to date came off that bridge at 2lbs. 6oz.and lost one right before that I promise made it look like a minner ....
