Yeah sorry my answer didn’t help much and I wasn’t familiar with that style of fishing either jumped the gun on that one. Pretty cool stuff sounds like you have it figured out very well. I’ll be interested to see your stringer full tomorrow tight lines to you.

My favorite way to hunt crappie is dock shooting I’m hooked lol

I don't use pegged weights but I have found a 1/32 bullet weight will fit perfectly pressed into styrofoam slip float. They are kind of hard to find but are well having some with you. Add the weight to a float and a 1/32 jighead and you will have something you can cast pretty far.

Thanks Gainraiser. It's a different style of fishing but I'll take that into real consideration. My biggest dilemma right now is do I want to do the fish I catch tomorrow Whole or Filet? They are a good as in the boat.

I actually normally use TWO 1/8 oz above my jig but don't peg anything. I use egg singers and just run the line thru twice with and cn normally slid them abound if needed. How the heck and you dip at 5mph? Seems way too fast.

I am mostly just an ultra light single pole jig caster. For the way I fish and the waters I fish jig heads from 1/32 to 1/16 oz. do the job most of the time. As a matter of fact instead of added weight I sometimes use a bobber to suspend the jig at a certain depth. If I am in deeper water I might go as heavy as 1/8 Oz.

Before livescope I religiously used a double jig setup with 10’ rod. Did this for years. Had 1/16 to 1/8oz jighead on top and 1/8 to 1/4oz jighead on the bottom. When livescope came around I started to just use one jighead with weight at top. I prefer a 1/8oz weight on top. Lately I’ve reverted back to double jighead setup as crappie tend to strike at the weight. Might as well have a hook with it.
