    Default Feeling a Bit Better

Sometimes, Life can surprise you. As I posted here back in November last year I purchased a 1980 Ebbtide Dyna-Trak 160. Then Life got in the way in a major way, my sweetheart, my better half Joyce, had to have open-heart surgery, having the top of her heart rebuilt.

Well, while she's been recovering, I've been window shopping and researching this boat, with many headaches trying to scour the internet for any tid-bits I could find. Seems Tide craft went out of business, was sold a few times, and the property changed hands as many times as well, with everyone keeping any and all info on these boats really tight to their chest and not divulging anything over the web.

Well, I wound up getting ahold of the current owner of the boat company thats building boats at the White Plains, Tn plant formally Ebbtide Boats plant. He said he didn't have any info that could help me, but would try to get ahold of someone he believed could. Would only give me a name, and would see if they would call me. He did today, and helped a lot, said he would research what he had and would email me what he found.

Just out of curiosity, I googled his name in relation to Ebbtide boats. It turns out the person who called me, one Richard Anderson, in September of 2012 was Named as the President of North American Operations for Ebbtide Boats. On top of the info he gave me today, told me if I had any questions, or needed any help on my rebuild, I'm sure just on the info side, He was no more than a phone call away. Talk about customer service, and I'm sure I'm at least the third owner of this boat.

Finding this out about Mr. Anderson, just knocked my socks off and threw them two rooms away.

Yes sir I do believe so. I asked about wiring schematics, and he don't believe he has one for this exact boat. However, he did say he would find one comparable to it and email it to me. Now, I know I could just put most any color wire in in there of the right gauge being tinned marine wire, but my OCD kicks in and I really want it as close to original as I can get. Also easier to chase electrical gremlins down if everything's not red and black. Besides, labels have been known to fade, and or come off.

Bud I can draw you a wiring diagram if you are going to rewire (I find the easiest way). If your trying to reuse the existing wiring I just posted the NMMA wiring color codes in the Blazer section. Some color codes are different within the engine harness by manufacturer. When you get to the engine harnesses just let me know what you're trying to fix.

rojoguio, Thank you sir, and I may take you up on that offer. I am new to all this, and looking at wiring diagrams, they start to look like cooked spaghetti noodles. Maybe if I broke it down more to a manageable size, and did one little bit at a time. As far as reusing any of the old harness, no sir, I don't believe I will. There is a lot to figure out on this yet as far as a game plan. I do know that great big aluminum tank that takes up a lot of room in the back is going. a couple smaller tanks will reside back there. right now there is room for 1 mattery on the ends of that tank, that's it. Great big ole tank for sure.
Thank you for posting the wire diagram here, Buckeye and to rojoguio for sharing it in his thread. I need to go over there and catch up on it. Life been getting in the way again. I'll update this if I can get started soon, If not, I'll talk with Slab and may do like others have done, and start a blog on it. Maybe call it the Shadetree build as I don't have much knowledge on rebuilding, nor a shop. If the Navy will ever start paying out the compensation for the Camp Lejune debacle, all that can and will change. One thing I am doing, or started is a three-ring binder with document protectors on this boat.
