I did alot of research on dispatching a skunk without him spraying. Here are my options/
1. Shoot him. He will likely spray if I head shoot him. 70% chance he want spay if shot in the lungs. This is not a option
since I live in the middle of the city.
2. Drown him. I would have to figure out a way to dump the skunk and trap in a water filled trash can.
3. Fill his lungs with acetone. Using a hypodermic needle on a long pole and inject him with acetone. Great method but I
don't think I could get the needle thru the cage.
4. Let him die from starvation. This is method is cruel but I don't think I have any other options.
I hope I don't have to deal with a skunk again.

If it’s not on you, or a pet, spray isn’t that bad. It’ll dissipate in half a day or so. My vote is pop him in the head w a pellet rifle or 22 and deal with it

No way the smell dissipates in a day or two. I shot one in the ear hole with a 177 pellet rifle. He was instantly dead and instantly emptying his scent glands. The smell lingered for about 4-6 weeks. Every time it rained the smell came back alive. He was behind my garage maybe 40-50 yards from the house. Within 20 minutes, the smell came in the house. Maybe through the central air? Needless to say, the wife wasn’t real happy with me about that. The next one I shot through the ribs and he ran away to die without spraying.
A friend of mine caught one in a live catch trap. He covered the trap with a small tarp and carefully relocated him without any spray at all. No way I could get that lucky but it worked for him.
Houston, We have a problem............I've caught over 25 so far this summer but this is ridiculous. I set the trap late since I was sticking steel to Crappie with fellow member P-Nut. This coon was caught within 30 minutes.

I did buy and peel 5#'s of jumbo shrimp yesterday. You think maybe the shrimp brought it out of the woods. When it gets cool I make Ramen Noodles in the evenings with all kinds of proteins. I am just craving shrimp ramens right now. Funny thing they all go straight to the bird feeders. I have the trap sitting at the base of the feeder holder.
