Love my Hopkins spoons. You never know what you might catch on one either.

Looking forward to giving these a try. It will be my first experience with using spoons but if the crappie don’t go for them I’m sure they will come in handy trout fishing.

We used to use spoons similar to these for wintertime stripers on Lake Murray, SC. The locals call em ice flies and they are fished with bucktails on a double rig. Never caught any crappie on them but have caught lots of stripers and white perch. Sometimes 2 at a time!

Sounds like a fun time! I’m new to using spoons and look forward to seeing what I may catch with them if anything they look good for trout fishing which I enjoy as well.

Thanks for the feedback tight lines!

Here's what I was talking about.
Follow those birds to hungry Lake Murray stripers - Carolina Sportsman

Sorry about getting off on a striper tangent, but the spoon discussion prompted it....

1/4 to 3/8 oz. white Bucktail Road Runners work great now too. The bucktail slows the fall and makes it an easy target. It's another lure that you never know what you might catch.
