I guess I’m done with bass tournaments for the year so hopefully the fall crappie bite’s good & I can learn a lot more about catching them.

I will say that i sure do enjoy crappie fishing way more than i ever thought i would so crappie fish until first week of june next year than bass tournaments until last weekend of september then rinse & repeat.

Nice thing abut the lures you cast for crappie, anything will bite them and numbers + nice size to boot! It's been a +50 fish/ outing for the last month which included 13" crappie, sunnies larger than my hand and 11" yellow perch.
I'm assuming you're using a light action rod and small lures.
(BTW how high did you place tx fishing?)
Worst year i've ever had tournament fishing. When they went offshore i never could figure them out.
Nah ... where Les & I fish, this is what we're after & what we most likely will catch when slinging ballhead jigs/plastics : (9.5-11")
What I used Saturday, LS flippin' was Slabanator Devil Minners & Crappie Magnet Tiny Dancer plastics to roaming schools of Crappie.

Hey Les been fishing a lot here lately, the bite has really picked up here. Not any big ones yet, had a crappie club tournament over the last weekend and only 9 lbs won with a 7 fish limit.
I'll be back at it Sunday barring any unforseen circumstances. Mother nature may have them shut down though with the cold that's coming.
