I read comments on here from to time to time about the wife won’t let me buy such and such or do so and so. I realize much of that talk is in jest, but some of is not…LOL. My wife on the other hand is about as supportive of my fishing habit and expenditures as any out there. Come off the river trout fishing a couple months back using a new technique for which I really did not have a rod for. When she asked how my day was I remarked I did not have the proper setup to fish the D2 jig in current. Her remark to me was, well you need to order what you need. I get all my gear out of Japan and it ain’t cheap. I had sold my boat before our move to Arkansas and after moving into our new home I was not sure I was going to get another boat. After all it is a lot of money, I am getting older, and just really was leaning toward not doing it. We’re riding around one day and she just out of the blue tells me you need a boat. So off we go and order a custom build. Sitting around a few weeks back and I casually remarked that I sure wish we could get the Titans games this year. She looks at me and tells me we are getting NFL Sunday Ticket. I suppose my point is I’m a very blessed man.

I was actually bragging a bit when I talked about how mean my wife is.
It is the truth. But she is really good to me! She is selective on who sees her wrath. I might’ve been close a few times, like when I pour salsa out of the jar instead of using a spoon - but hasn’t turned it towards me yet. She’s the biggest brake on my unnecessary spending ever, and does that by saying “buy it”
Makes me take responsibility and ask myself if I really need it. 100% more effective than any nagging or whining ever was in the past. I think she’s using psychology on me but if it works it works.
