    Default The dock problems

If you hit docks often you know the game , one thing that is not so much fun is the stuff under the docks , often times fish hang up on what dangles under them .
my biggest problem on my favorite dock are all the ropes careless folks leave dangling , lose lots of larger fish on them and even the small ones too ....
of course buoys, rivets on boats , decking materials ,screws and bumpers all get into the program as well , but to be sure ropes are some of the worst as the hook point often gets into the rope and now the fish has the advantage .....
mooring ropes too .....darn them ropes I say ....
pictured below is a small crappie on a rope that was not attached to anything and I got lucky and got the fish and the jig back , that was my second time on that visit , there was strap hanging in another slip that bit my jig too ....
in synopsis ,,,,BEWARE OF THEM DANGLING ROPES >>>
P>S> nothing eats jigs better than ropes and straps , they just bury right into them the first chance they get

me does religiously , had to actually cut the strap a wee bit to get the jig back that visit , not the rope though....
some folks might think it extreme , but my stone hits my knife at least once a week ....
and it goes with me everywhere ....my daddy always said a dull knife is dangerous one....

Shooting pontoons I occasionally snag a rope that is hanging down in the water. I push the barb through and snip off the end of the hook. So I can pull the jig back out and not damage the rope. Lots of times I remove other jigs that have been broken off and abandoned.
