    A much younger Pappy with some Hybrids from Taylorsville. Pretty sure they were eaten, red meat & all seeing as how I grew up eating White Bass cooked "whole" (scaled & gutted, no head) by my Grandmother ... and there was no "trimming" of the red meat done by my Grandpa when they were cleaned.

    Yes, they are good to eat. We eat alot of them. As already said, we cut most of the red outta them, roll em in house autry breader and deep fry them. Friends and family love em. Just remember.... the more red you leave, the more "fishy" they taste! They are also good grilled with olive oil and seasoning of your choice.

    Cut into 2 inch cubes and dropped in some good crab boil and a bit of cocktail sauce on the backside ......

    I heard about that trick but haven’t tried it yet. I’ll get some crab boil and cocktail next time at the store…..

    its a very old guide recipe from way back when , we used to load the boat with big stripes and often recommended this to clients ....helps with the fishy part and pretty tasty ....
