Default Fluorocarbon Line and Crappie Fishing?

Getting sick of my 15lb braid wrapping up on the eyelets and tangling so on one of my 13’ poles I made a change. I rigged it with some Big Game 15lb Trienle I had, and it performed well. Got lots of bites so maybe my hi-vis yellow was more of an issue than I thought. I could pull it off snags without it breaking just like the braid and even straightened out the hook without it breaking. Been thinking about trying Fluoro.
My question about Fluoro is when I’ve used it in the past bass fishing it was really picky on knots, and I tied a Double San Diego Jam not which worked well. It seems like a lot of knot for a 1\16 crappie lure.
I like to use a loop knot crappie fishing will that work with Fluoro?

Not sure on loop knot but have fished fluorocarbon or braid with fluorocarbon leader exclusively for about 10 years now. Uni knot is about all I use anymore but Palomar works well too.

I’m pretty much uni knot on everything. Or double uni on braid to mono. Never felt lacking, and I can tie it eyes closed. I use a lot of Berkley Vanish w uni knot, but have been told it’s not truly floro, so may not mean anything.

I like loop knots but a Palomar Knot works well on flouro for me.

I ran 2 spools of 10 lb. Floro and used loop knots and never saw any performance issues , it was clear line and right tough stuff …
    I liked it , just too pricey, $ 10 a Spool on sale for 5 , so I tried it ….

When fluorocarbon line came out, I hated it. It seemed stiff and didn’t hold knots for me. I ran thousands of yards of mono over the years.

When K9 Line became a sponsor, I started using their 12 pound test flouro on all my trolling reels. It has worked amazingly well, has superior knot strength, and has saved me countless cranks and baits over the last 3 years due to its strength. I probably save 50% more hung up cranks than with mono.

I can attest that Berkley Vanish has no problems holding my loop knots. Braid to FC leader is my go to.

I have 1 Lews Wally Marshal Signature Series pole 14ft. The handle is cut down, a 2000 series Spinning Reel is on it loaded with 15# Red Line. I use this rig with Big Hooks to catch Big Fish is terrible vertical jigging environments, just everything down there a fish wants to wrap around. The Red Line gets just as many bites as the Mr Crappie Camo but I pull them out of the structure. Sometimes I wish Mr Crappie Camo was available in 15# test. Great success in real clear water with the Red Line too.

I’m a fan of both braid and flouro, and I bounce between the two. For the last 9-10 months I’ve used 8lb clear flouro on jigging poles and 10lb braid on my casting rods. Great results, no issues.
