    Birdbander had an extra tip section so he got one of the butt sections and I'll retip the other one. Thanks for the input.

    Agrees. I would think braid would be the culprit before monofilament . Either way if I was worried about new sections doing the same thing I would replace the tip with ceramic inserted ones. JM2C

    Quality Tip Top feature you want to look for is one made with the frame reinforcement shaped to reduce line wrap from snagging on it on windy days.
