I wish I could do that. I did an experiment the other day after spending over half the day only catching 3-4 fish. I finally found a jig they wanted. By wanted I mean I went from half a day fishing and only 3-4 fish to fish on every cast. I remembered I had some jigs that were the same head and tail color, same profile, same head size, less body flash, just tied with a different tail material. NADA. I then picked up one that was same EVERYTHING as first jig, just didnt have flash on the body. Same weight and color head, same length, color, and material tail, no flash on the body. One every 2nd or 3rd cast. Clipped that one off and went back to the original jig, and BAM, back to every cast.

I swear some days they'll eat anything you put in front of them and some days they're just finicky as can be until you find THE jig. Gotta love/hate hot, clear water, black crappie.

they can be a beast to figure out in some spots , but we mostly hit turbid waters here , bright baits often do well and to be sure some colors just seem to be what they want on some days more than others .....
probably would have done well with a chart on my line ,but didn't grab one that visit .....
that lake has the bright with contrast thing going on most of the time ....

We've got one river system right by my house, where I consider my home lake to be, that most all the lake's are relatively clear. One lake, two lakes down from me, will get dingy at times, but has a good sized, undammed (well not really, mostly just low head dams), river coming into it, in addition to the main river the reservoirs are built on.

The next river system over where most of the tournies I fish, are held on, have lakes that are MUCH MUCH MUCH more fishing friendly in terms of ease of locating and catching. Many more white crappie, and of the 4 main lakes, they start dirtier and get clearer, in general, of course there are exceptions at times, and temperamental. The top two lakes, geographically in that system, the fish seem to bite a MUCH wider variety. They're fun to fish because you can fish nearly anything you want, any way you want, and catch fish.

mind you this sir , I was just playing around with my mixed bottle of nibbles , I did only have 3 jigs with me though , 2 in the bottle and 1 on my rod , one thing for certain , crappie are all over the map in these parts and might be in the mood to make you feel less than adequate at the task and or the part where you say ...hey look at me go ....KABOOM

I wish I could narrow it down to three jigs instead of the hundreds I carry although I normally start with the confidence jigs that I have had success with and often don't try other colors unless they aren't biting and start to get desperate. I used to use nibbles a lot but had problems with them drying out even with the jar sealed. Switched to Berkley power wigglers in the same colors as the nibbles and they stay soft and don't dry up. You can cut them into pieces, I get up to four baits with one wiggler depending on how I cut them and can usually catch several or more fish before I have to replace it. Try it, you'll like it.

white ones lightly are the best in my opinion , the chart stay terribly soft and fall off frequently , the pink seem to be on the bream menu often and to be sure if you .....
sniff a bottle of each , the white ones heavy a much heavier odor of shrimp ....
it aint like I have not tried everything out there my friend , just find the white ones to be the best day in and day out ,besides all that, a white spot , looks way better than a chart or pink spot on your britches .....

They do make a glow white power wiggler that I've had really good success with. My favorite nibble is the white with glitter which you can tell by looking at my steering wheel of my truck that I've had for 19 years. Glitter all over it and it's baked in and won't come off.

Sometimes I carry 4 and an extra float if that’s my presentation preference….
