    Default Something different and nerdy

    Spot The Station | NASA

I enjoy watching the space station fly over. I like to think about the crew and the speed and would go for a ride if I could. Anyway, it's not going to be around forever. If you have never seen it, it looks like a moving star. It typically is in sight 4 to 8 minutes. Of course you need clear skies. Happens to be flying over sw Louisiana tonite. Will be cool with the super moon. Anyway, I put the link on here for anyone who wants to sign up to get alerts for when it will be in sight of your place.Pretty easy to sign up. Good topic to talk about with kids. Who knows, you might have a future astronaut in your own family. I been watching it for years and still enjoy it. Simple things can be nice. "D"

I remember seeing it years back at my parents house. I signed up to receive the notifications but have a feeling where I live now I will have a very hard time seeing it. Way too many trees around. Thanks for the link “D” hopefully it works out.

There's sighting this week but the local forecast says high potential for rain so it'll be cloudy.

Checked again and I don't think I'm going to get a chance to see it this week. The other times it doesn't get very high and I have trees all around me. Have to try another time.

Super clear morning and easy to see. Watched it fly over this morning 5:45 for 5 minutes. Wish I had thought to grab my binoculars this morning.
