I have heard several times this past weekend about the effectiveness of a crappie jig that has a purple head, purple body and chartreuse tail. I’ve never fished one but I’m seriously thinking about tying up some and giving them a try. Fishing here, under all this hot, dry weather has been pretty slow lately. The fish are there but getting them to hit is another story. Our water on the Tugaloo side of Lake Hartwell on the SC/Ga border is crystal clear. It rarely gets stained and never muddy. So, does water clarity effect how useful a Purple and Chartreuse would be here? What do you guys think? Get busy tying or forget about it?
