    Default Jigging rod choice

I just got a livescope. Only 2 trips so I’m excited and frustrated. I tried to vertical jig with a 12’ Pinnacle that I bought years ago for trolling and it’s so heavy it gave me tendonitis. So give me your preferences on rods. BnM, ACC, Ozark, Crappie Thunder....etc. The good, bad ugly, price, reels....

I've got several BnM and like them. I have the BGJP and the Diamond series. The diamond is lighter, but I use both.

For flippin double jigs over LS .... I use a 12' Diamond Series BnM rod that I paired with a Okuma STX 20 reel.

(*rod was a gift & reel was bought thru our Classifieds)

Backup rod (for double jig rigs also) is a 10' Huckabee Sig Series Dipping rod that I paired with a Mitchell 308X reel.

(*rod was a gift & reel was store bought when they first came out)

Also usually carry a 8' Diamond Series BnM rod paired with a Shimano Spirex 1000RE reel ... used for single jig casting (weedless jighead) and as a secondary backup outfit.

(*rod was a gift & reel was bought off the Classifieds Forum)

I like the st croix victory “Crosshair” rod paired with a shimano vanford. It’s more of a casting/flipping to them on the livescope vs long pole

BnM Russ Bailey with a Pflueger President and also the BnM Diamond Series paired with a BnM Pro 100 are my choices.

I use B&M Buck's 10' ($40)and 12' ($50) with Lews lite speed reel($20). They are very light / sensitive and I have never broke one but I have broke plenty of the higher priced brands and higher priced B&M's. I have caught Drum,Stripe,Bass and 20lb catfish on these that pulled me all over the lake for 1/2 hr while the rod was bent in half. Flipping slabs over 2lbs is not a problem. They are light and plenty sensitive so I stopped buying new rods and just use the old ones because they work better for me

I use a rear seat ACC with a Bonehead reel. Great balance, fish all day and never got tired.
