    Default Longlining setup?

Here in Virginia I fish fairly shallow local reservoirs that probably don`t get much over 15 feet deep at the most. My usual technique is to use (2) 1/16th jigs tied maybe 15 to 18 inches apart. During this recent heat wave I`ve experimented with moderate success using 1 jig head (1/16th) instead of my usual tandem setup.

For the longliners ... Do you always use the same setup or do you deviate? I`ve even read where some use a heavier jig on the top and a lighter weight on the bottom. Anyone use a single

We fish single 1/16th oz jigs tipped with a variety of plastics. Most of our fish come from under 10' of water, usually tight to the weed edge or in the weeds. Boat speed about .8 and maybe 50-80 feet of line out, depending on water depth and weed thickness.

I Always use differently set ups and or adjusted speed according to where the fish are in the water column .
Some folks use different size split shots above their jig to reach different depths but I always like pulling doubles if the fish are deep enough to do so.
    Too blessed to be stressed!
