    Default Outpatient surgery

This happened this last Wednesday morning. I went fishing with my son and Brian to a local farm pond. We had a few hours and were just going to do some bank fishing.

I was really excited to go fishing with my son and Brian so we got some of the best lures I made in the hopes of catching some mule slabs in this pond next to Purdy Lake.

Well we fished for about an hour and were just catching dink Crappie and Redears.

We figured we were wasting out time so Brian said he knew someone with a house on lake Neely Henry so he made a call and asked if we could come over for about an hour. He said ok.

We were on Neely fishing for a few minutes when KAPOWEE we started to slam the Crappie. Good size to them too. All of a sudden Brian's rod doubled over and the fight was on.

A monster bass hit that little bitty little perchie lure and he fought it for about twenty minutes on the four pound test line and the Ugly stick light Action rod. We needed help from my son to help us with the fight. He slipped into his alter ego to join the fight.

That big huge bass had to quit fighting. Then the unthinkable happened. OUTPATIENT SURGERY was immediately required.

None of us remembered to bring pliers or forceps. That hook was not coming out of that bass's jaw. We also had not bent down the barb on the Eagle Claw hooks. We were fishing for panfish not gigantic bass.

Superman went into action again. It must be nice to be young, gifted and powerful. He grabbed that bass and yanked with his powerful hand. The OUTPATIENT SURGERY was completed.

What a day. KAPOWEE and KABOOM.

Who said a drop shot rig does not work on finicky fish. That's my story and I 'm sticking to it!

    Time to go home.

Great story and a really beautiful bass. I’m sure the bass was happy to swim away with just a very sore mouth!
