I agree one must thorough when doing scientific studies.
According to my almost never ending scientific studies , a change over to camo with a crappie.com logo surely does help the bite !
Of course they were not whales but to be very sure way bigger than the microchip thing last time and in about double the number of fish as well ....
So once again ,scientists have come to the conclusion that COLOR DOES MATTER !
KABOOM is near ....
p.s. further testing will be needed , one can't just rest ones hat on ones head and call it done in these here serious scientific studies ....

It has worked for me numerous times. Also changing size will fire them back up also
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
They can be fickle. Some days color makes all the difference. I’ve had days where I have used several colors just to see and they all worked. Then the switch gets tu4ned off and nothing works.

Mighty fine lid covers they are! SlabSauce helps too, just not on the hat!

Keep a low profile in clear water. Funny how at times shadow or noise runs them off, next time nothing bothers them.

Strange creatures no doubt, one clear water place we used to visit often had them holding a minimum of 22 feet down in really deep water .
They never seemed get shallower there , anything on the graph shallower than 20 plus down was a bluegill or a bass ….
It was well before LS , but we spent some time on them with our birds figuring them out …
Bought drove us crazy at first , the darn big bluegill held at about 15 to 18 down in groups on the timber .
Anywhere else we ever hit , the fish in groups on timber that deep were crappie…
Really Clear water can be tough to ketch fish in for sure
