Had the wind blow my umbrella out of the PVC a couple of times, so I fixed it so that wouldn't happen again. I drilled a hole thru the PVC & umbrella pole & inserted a cotter pin. My PVC umbrella rack wasn't totally glued together, so I could disassemble it & store it in the rod box, along with the umbrella. The lower part of the umbrella rod stayed inside the PVC upright pole when stored. You can't see the cotter pin because that picture was taken before I had the umbrella blow out of the boat. But, as my luck would have it, once I did have the cotter pin in ... there were times when the wind gusts would turn the umbrella inside out

My fishing buddy made one for the back seat ... but glued his completely together. I think he used it no more than a couple of times. He had the same umbrella. He eventually bought the Millennium holder, and has used it a few times in the past. My double seat setup has a built-in holder for those times we use it.

My PVC umbrella holder worked okay, but it was a bit cumbersome to change its position. That was mainly due to the fact that I use the offset pedestal and the T section wasn't cut down any to allow for the pedestal bend. The whole PVC umbrella holder deal was a spur of the moment trial project, just to see if we could make them. They weren't used often enough to bother with any modifications, so none were made.

When it gets hot and sunny, I go swimming.

If swimming isn't an option, i sit under the Bimini top and fish out the back of the boat.

I live in Mississippi, so yes, an umbrella is used in my boat. I have something similar with a beach umbrella with a homemade PVC stand similar (but not exactly like) post #4. When I get a chance to pull the boat out of the garage, I'll take a picture to show with my spider rig and Livescope setup, if I remember.

I really like my Millenium setup. Carry it all the time and use just about every time in summer after 9am
