Default Here we go again. Back to the hospital.

Wednesday morning I will be having my 2nd lumbar fusion surgery. L3/4/5 will be fused. This will be a two day surgery, Wednesday they will go thru both of my sides then Friday they will go in thru my back. A lot of my hardware from the first surgery will be removed then replaced with longer rods and such.

When I had my first(the day of my Dad’s funeral), my doctor told me I would be having to have another fusion on the vertebrae levels above my L5/S1 fusion.

I’ve spent the last few days wrapping up some taxidermy work and things around the house. The Storm Cat is stored after my Grenada trip last weekend.

Rickie or I will report in as to my condition. I’ll probably be in the hospital into next weekend. I’ll be in a back brace for 8 weeks. The surgeon says at least 6 weeks out of the boat. I have every intention to be back guiding by Sept 1. We’ll see.

Here is the latest project, a Cape Buffalo from Africa. Rickie helped me deliver it Saturday. Name: IMG_4970.jpg

Hope your surgeon does as good a work as you do. Good luck. I've had 3 back surgeries but none as severe as yours. Seems each one was great at relieving pain.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
