If I saw you on the water and you was playing some Rob I would end up trying to get closer.

Nope. When I go fishing most of the time, it's not to catch fish. Same when I'm on tractor cutting grass. Haven't a clue about earbuds, nor do I want to.

I nearly always have a JBL Bluetooth speaker going when I’m alone on the boat. I have a small section of rubber mat that in place the speaker on that attenuates most of the vibration so it doesn’t amplify through the fiberglass hull. At crankbait trolling speed I’ve noticed zero difference in my catch rates from days I forget the speaker at the house vs those with tunes going. When slowing down to longline I’ll turn it down, but there’s still music or a podcast going 90+ percent of the time and we catch plenty of fish with it on.

When I bought my new boat, I asked if they could take out the radio and give me a credit- no deal. Never turned it on!
sure do..breaks the monotony of an hour or two trolling and no fish..talk radio
small transistor radio

My next question was gonna be if anyone had determined if Crappie had a preference in music
In my last boat I thought I was seeing them prefer mainstream, old country versus classic rock. Funny, they didn’t seem to care for bluegrass either. I’m joking of course, but I did pay attention to what was playing when I caught fish. Nowadays they get red dirt/outlaw country mostly off Pandora, whether they like it or not lol

I will occasionally listen to a college sports game. By doing that I can enjoy two of my favorite things. I find as I get older that I really only do what brings me enjoyment with my spare time.
2 of my personal bests came during a razorback basketball game.

I listen to the radio whenever I want; trolling, pulling, jigging, slip bobber, etc.
I have tinnitus, some days I need to drown out the ringing to save my sanity.
I prefer to listen to ball games, however MLB decided they wanted to be greedy and charge.
I’ve been thinking after reading y’all’s replies. I do enjoy the sounds of nature. I do just enjoy my music, but I think part of why I turn it on later in the day is that it distracts me from the pleasure boaters buzzing me, soothes me and keeps me from getting militant and chunking bank sinkers at em
