    Well that would definitely work well, I have something with a longer lead attached to the syringe in mind. Maybe crimping the float to the syringe thru a hole drilled in the finger lands using some 40# mono. I keep scissors on the bow tied to a light 24in piece of bungee. Several pairs have gone overboard hurrying to net a good fish. Pliers too. Using the small bass boats their bows have very limited space.

    I don't know the size of syringe your talking of, but you could cut a chunk from one of the larger pool noodle long enough to push the syringe through and that would keep it afloat to be retrieved...Just sayin'
