My personal vehicle is a Titan (also built in Canton, MS).
So how did you like that Frontier?
I like a lot of things about them, but don't plan to be in the market to buy for another year or so.

It is a pretty nice truck. I’m used to driving a Titan or Titan XD, so it takes me a little adjusting to the smaller cab. Power wise, it’s fine for pulling my boat or most trailers that I’d pull. It is definitely easier to park than a Titan XD for daily driving.

Pre 2019 is a man’s truck , no matter the cab size , the 2021 is still the same body style and fast , but the 9 speed puts the ponies down a bit too smooth for me and the low end torque of the 4.0 with 5 speed is very much in line with a v8 powered truck …
The 2023 new body style and up have a 13 speed automatic transmission is what I think I remember and does not get bunches of praise….
Hear tell it’s a highway ride and also didn’t perform well off road …..

My Honda has an option switch which allows you to put it in 4 wheel drive if need be. It automatically disconnects 4WD above 20mph. I actually use 4WD sometimes. Handy for hauling deer out of muddy fields. Im not much into muddin'. Have to pay somebody to clean up and somebodies are hard to find. Most 4wd trucks around here never get muddy.

Try not to muddy mine up to bad. If the need arises I don't mind. I grew out of play in the mud phase in my 20's

The 2022+ Frontier still has the same 9-speed automatic as the 2020+ Titan/Titan XD and the automatic Z that was recently released.

What model year is your Honda Tom?
All the new ones I have seen on line say they are AWD, which I took to mean the All Wheel Drive was engaged all the time.

My dad's 2012 Pilot does the same thing--4WD below 20mph and disengages above that speed. For boat ramps and parking in a field or gravel, that seems perfectly fine.

2017. There is a process to put it in 4wd. mine say awd too.

Ridgeline runs frontwheel drive only but it will engage awd if the wheels slip at a different rotation than others. YES. It does have a transfer case, and 4wd is not hard locked like a standard 4wd. Only dumb butts get their 4wd stuck. ha

i have had mine in some nasty bean and corn fields. never stuck.

2019 Frontier here too. Great truck and built like a rock. I carry 7 footers in my cab across the passenger seat all the time. Check CarComplaints.com for great comparison on all truck models. That's where I started when I bought mine.
