Looking for a quick easy solution to alleviate some of the heat on my aluminum floor in boat. Hoping to hydroturf this winter I think. Any other ideas you all are doing that's not "permanent."

I don't know of anything temporary that would be safe to walk on, un-glued carpet may move and make you fall... Back in my Jon boat days I would paint my plywood floor and throw some sand on top before it dried.. 4 years ago I used off white bed liner with tiny white rubber crumbles mixed into the liner material on my skiff floor. After applying a epoxy primer and waiting about 45-60 minutes I used a Shutz gun and put down a textured finish...It is permanent, not slippery. It has held up nicely
Tennis shoes maybe?

I painted my floor camo tan and it’s cooler than basic aluminum. I’ve had one with some grass carpet from the previous owner that wasn’t glued but it stayed in place from the other stuff sitting on top of it. After some time the rubber back stiffens and pretty much stayed put. Aerosol contact cement used sparingly will hold well and wire brush in a drill will remove it when you get ready to hydroturf. If your boat is stored in direct sun you may want to rethink hydroturf. When the sun beats it up and dries it out it’s a bear to get off. I had to remove it from my last boat. Lots of time with an oscillating tool.

I replaced the carpet on the deck of my boat , I really like the way it turned out, I used a very light grey, medium grit ,
It is very slip resistant and not hot, It would be a permanent fix however.
