Yea, I’m afraid I’ve messed up my non glare coating. I’m just trying to get them squeaky clean before I put glass screen protectors on.

I always use a new microfiber cloth with clean water only. My electronics get as much slime as the fish offer since almost all my fish come off the front right over both screens on the bow of my pointy bass boat. It works great for me. I'm with Crappiepappy, maybe your smearing your own fluids?

My Garmin 1022 looks like it has a film on it even after cleaning it. I've come to the conclusion it's just the screen itself. I've never used anything other than Windex with vinegar and I haven't used any type of spray around it.
After a couple of quick searches on Humminbird and Garmin's FAQ I'm going to start using a water and Dawn mixture to clean my screens.

Ive got a small spray bottle of dawn/water and another bottle of clean water, and microfiber cloths I keep in a gallon baggy. So far no issue with film or residue on my 1022 or Helix 10
