Really enjoyed your longlining video Mike.

I also deal with folks running all over me and my lines. My boat is unique for a crappie rig and very recognizable. Folks seem to think it is fine to follow or even get in front of a boat pulling baits. I had a serious blow-up on a guy on Ky Lake Saturday who tracked me for a half mile then cut in front of me. I almost hit him broadside and had to steer hard to my right to avoid hitting him. I let him know what I thought about it but with clients in my boat, didn’t go any further. Had I been filming, my edit would have been several minutes cut out.

How do you deal with non-crappie species? I won’t pull jigs after water temp gets into the 60s because of catfish, white bass and yellow bass.

Non-crappie species are just something you have to deal with. I try to stay positive and just consider them a bonus but it is hard to do when big catfish are breaking off your crankbaits. That is why I started carrying a catfish net.

Maybe you should've been filming, you could turn it over to the fish and game people and let them take care of it.
