I use 6# Vicious hi-vis copolymer line & a weedless jighead for casting to wood cover of all types.
Thinking of braid to leader or straight 6# copolymer? Any input would be appreciated.

I was using Braid to flouro yesterday and broke off 3 or 4 times and got tired or retying. I went to straight braid and no more issues. Fish didn't care. I think jig size was more important than the line type or size and I use high vis braid.

I have been using 10/2 braid without a leader a lot this year and have not experienced any problems.
Yes, as a matter of fact, I do have a retirement plan...FISHING!
Tried leaders with braid way back when some “pro” anglers told me it was the way to go ….
They was right and it is now gone from my arsenal….

I use straight 10# Power Pro 8Slick in Moss tied right to the jig. It smokes anything else I have tried. Limber rods help fishing it along with a piece of wooden dowel to pull your snags free. Wrap the line around the dowel NOT your hands. River fishing crappie the light lines you spend all day tying on new jigheads.

Come fish in clear water w me and I will spank you using straight braid. Now in really stained or muddy water I can see where it would make no diff at all. Lots more easier for me to ise straight 4lb Trilene xl.
