    Default Umbrella for front deck?

Thinking about putting an umbrella on front deck of my skiff. Mostly to shade my 24" livescope monitor but the shade will be nice in the summer to. The only option l have found is the Millennium that mounts to the seat pole. Anyone have one or knows of a better option? Thanks, Don

Don't know if it's better, but there are several videos on YouTube on how to build your own out of PVC pipe at a fraction of the cost. Millennium stuff is great- but pricey.

Made my own out of PVC pipe and used an outdoor umbrella in it when my wife used to fish with me in the bass boat. Thinking of breaking it out and refitting it to the little Pelican Bass Raider boat seat frame for those upcoming hot summer days. Not as easy to cool off when all I have is electric trolling motors. 3 mph just doesn’t create enough breeze. . I’ll post a pic of mine later tonight, if you’re interested. Very simple to build, and much cheaper than store bought.
    All the best,
    Glenn

I have a Sport boat. If the sun it too much to bear, I put the Bimini top up and fish out the back of the boat. I do the same if it's raining hard too.

Threw this one together with some scrap PVC from my buddy's workplace & a few joints & reducer from hardware store. Had to drill a hole thru the PVC upright pole & the lower section of the umbrella's pole and put a cotter pin thru the hole after the wind lifted the umbrella out of the PVC upright pole & sent it into the lake.

It served it's purpose back then. The umbrella ran me about $20 or so. We made a duplicate for the back seat, for my bud, but then he bought the Millenium bar. I'm thinking seriously about doing the same, but a little hesitant because I don't really care for fishing in 80deg heat (or higher), even with the umbrella. Besides that, my double seat has a holder for the umbrella that I can use ... even if he fishes out of the back seat.
