Default Hardware question - will fish still bite with this leader attached

Pickerel have bitten off a few lures in one lake I fish and figured that a thin wire leader should prevent the loss. Can this still catch panfish without spooking them? The lure works for sure without the leader and clips.

If they are line shy they may not. Never hurts to try and see

For some reason replying to post (not mine) has been denied. Any idea why?

IMHO that is a bit too much snap, swivel, leader and snap. I'm one that don't believe fish are line shy as I've caught a ton of crappie on bright green line, but I think they are size shy, and all that bulk just adds to the size!

Hey, Spoony .... why not use a much smaller clip & turn the wire leader around the other way ?? Maybe even get a much longer wire leader ??

What about using some braid as the leader?

Wow that's weird. Is it just the newbie section? Also, if you want, pm me your password and I'll log in to test it as you. I can not see passwords, I can only reset them.
