Braid no better when it comes to razor sharp teeth. I'm using 8# test braid and even when I used 15# test - lure gone!
Will give the fine .25mm metal wire a try (someday when it stops raining!) and report back.

My thought was single strand leader wire twisted direct tone eye of the jig and trimmed close. A small swivel or split ring would do for attaching to your braid. To my way of thinking, less is more. Bass guys in brackish water use this when fishing around duck blinds covered in barnacles and it works for them. Change the wire when it gets kinked too bad.

Use the smallest Duo-loc snap, that you can. Some are just to small to a fumble-finger, like me.

In this order..jig, snap, leader, tie direct to leader. If you make your own, thread the snap on first. I have used this method.
hardware is an attractant, at times.

    hope that is clear

I really really intended to try the wire today but got carried away with crappy after crappy after crappy. All told, my partner and I boated over 180 fish that included sunfish, white and yellow perch, 5 bass including a 3 lb bass and this rather large pickerel:

We boated 4 other pics with no line breaks. The last pic I had on instantly severed the line.
Will try the wire tomorrow for sure!
