Yeah they're a little small but I like them on my long rods. Doesn't add a lot of weight to my long rods while holding them when livescoping.

And fyi, I did just buy one of those ones ketch mentioned off Amazon. Just to see. I like checking everything out as y'all know.

Glad to hear the second reel worked out. If you do regular biz with that store you may want to try another. Doesn’t sound like they stand behind what they sell, but I guess that’s the norm these days.

Sorry for the hijack. Just thought I'd share from one of our sponsors you could actually talk to on the phone if'n you had a question. Attachment 457517
I'm going to order one of the Amazon reels my self...but...I can attest to the fact that you can talk to Mr. Crappie customer service and if you get lucky Wally Marshall will answer the phone. I was stammering like a child when he said hello.

Yep, Wally is one of the hardest working people in crappie fishing I know. Great guy for sure. Will talk with anyone at any time.

I hate to admit it but back before the tariffs were put into effect I bought reels off Ebay for the jig poles and fly rods for $8.50-$11's and all have worked flawlessly. I needed folding handles, the type you push a button on the handle to pack as many in my little bass boat as possible. The drags are dry felt on all of them but I infused the washers with Cal's and keep them clean. Not much pressure can be applied to the tip of a rod from the butt end anyway. I've caught 10#+ Redfish, Goo's, and Catfish on the little 1000 series reels. Now I've bought name brand reels, several with President in the name, well the first time they get wet, water on the One Way bearings, the reels lock up. I called the manufacture and for $50 they offered to fix. I sent every locked up reel swimming in the Rigolets! I will never buy another in that brand. Lately I have bought some Quantum reels for casting that have great drags for the price and have held up very well for the use or abuse.

had some issues with many types of reels in the past , some are name brand stuff that is thought highly of .
this post was NOT an ad , just a heads up on what seems to be worth the cash so far .
