I love the quote 18 casts and 18 hook ups in a row. That is quite a testimony.

I am using a 1/4 worm weight to get back to the bottom fast and to make long casts from the bank. Fish fry on the bank was pretty good too.

Me too. I have a friend that swears by drop-shooting deep water for big bluegills. Does pretty well too.

I like the smallest pencil weight I can find. I used these bass fishing dropshot. They are great to drag through about anything. Dropshotting seems to really make the shellcracker and big gills mad and aggressive on the beds.

Another option is to use an actual jig as the bottom weight, with maybe a piece of crawler on the bottom jig? Double your chances
