This may be a stupid question but when you see something on side scan are you just hitting mark or are you scrolling to the structure then putting the mark right on the spot?

superdave anything possible, but it looks like a tree to me on the screen, but I don’t really know.

If it’s SI the fish often look like bright spots with shadows behind them , but often times way points are only close to the actual cover you Mark and not right exactly on top of it ...sometimes we way point things multiple times and come back and just roam the general area until we get back on what we originally found

Might spook fish with DI in 15 or less fow.
stay off and down wind.
I use to go back and look again and never could find them on a 2nd pass.
I finally learned I had scattered them.
