I have three of the older BnM SS rods. I really love them for shooting docks and crappie fishing in general. The cool thing about them is I paid less than $1 for all three.

Awesome. Let us know what you think about it. I think you will like it. It’s my go to for dock shooting.

Not the top of the line but this rod made by ugly stick the lite pro series is hard to beat for dock shooting. This one is paired with a 500 series Piscifun reel it’s a combo that’s caught a lot of crappie. All together it approximately a $70 combo.

The Centron 500 was my first reel purchased by Piscifun after reading through multiple reviews I was cautious but willing due to their price point and I will tell you quality does not suffer it’s been the best affordable reel that I have owned. I enjoyed it so much that when I purchased the Zman ned rig rod I paired it without hesitation to another Piscifun reel this time the CarbonX again in the 500 series and it was even better.

You noticed a trend with the 500 series a typical ice fishing reel but I enjoy taking my ultralight experience to the max. I have monofilament on my dock shooting rod/reel and it holds plenty of line for what I need it for in 2-4lb line. The CarbonX I have 6lb berkley fireline with a 4lb fluorocarbon leader and it has exceeded my expectations as far as the distance it can cast. My dad and uncle both have the CarbonX in the 1000 series and they have both been more than satisfied with their purchase.

With all that said I can honestly tell you I believe you wouldn’t regret going with a Piscifun reel. Quality at an affordable price.

I had 2 of these rods. I really liked them of dock shooting. The problem is....they both broke within 6 months. Not sure if it was my error somehow. But both broke during the process of shooting the dock. Now I use a Cabelas Fish Eagle. I actually like it a lot and it's held up well. The B&M dock shooter is pretty good as well. Those are all the rods I have any experience with for dock shooting.
