    Default NOT GOOD ....

struggled terribly my last 2 visits to 2 different lakes , might have to take up golf or quilt building is my native american name .....
the good news is the weather is just marvelous and there isn't a need to keep fish for dinner at our house anyway ...
yesterday was a prime example of ,this is gunna be good and then it AIN'T , ripped 2 nice ones quickly right off when I got there and then ......catfish, drum and bream until much later in the trip with a few more crappie rounding out the visit ....
heck at one point H EVEN ketched a darn turtle , AND we aint never ketched a turtle in that spot before ....
My last 2 visits to the water have reinforced me , to just exactly how the spring fling thing can be , both of these lakes have had rushes to the shoreline already and are coming up on the likely 3rd and final round in the next couple of weeks.
Crappie here in these parts make 3 solid runs to the shore on most lakes , one if late Feb. , one in late March and one in April , there will be stragglers off into May and even some in June possibly , but the best of it is over from what I can tell in these parts .....
water temps held steady at 70 to 71 all across the lake and most of the better fish were managed in less than 8 foot of water , the graph showed not much in any location and we hit about more than I care to count ....
nothing mattered yesterday and the fish were scattered like cottonwood blooms in the wind , lots on bait schools in open water and not many in shorter water. the open water fish had a zero cooperation level going on and sometimes it just is what it is .....but ....
in the end , some KABOOM beats no Kaboom for sure ....
p.s. got wear my straw hat too .....

Maybe not crappies, Ketchn, but a fine looking batch of fish. Your last sentence kind of sums it up - some kaboom is better than none!

Great looking mixed bag for sure. In my house, all would have been invited to the fish fry as the guest of honor...

Catching fish is a good thing. Being healthy enough to go fishing is even better than that. I’d take a day like that.
